Network Administrator
Responsible for
the setup, configuration, daily monitoring and maintenance of the company's
servers, PC's, and laptops. Routinely configure Ascend Pipeline routers for
remote ISDN sites. Server environment includes
Exchange 5.5, Citrix 1.8, Citrix XP, SQL 7.0, SQL 2000, NT 4.0, SMS, IIS,
Windows 2000, and UNIX platforms. Cisco, Ascend, and
3com routers and switches are used. Managed tape backups using
Arcserve 2000 and utilized Trend Micro Office Scan, Scan Mail,
Server Protect, and PC Cillin for virus protection.
*Migrated entire Network from Novell 4.11 to a Windows 2000 Active Directory
network.
*Responsible for building, installing and managing 4 Domain Controllers
*Set up Citrix 1.8 and Citrix XP servers; responsible for ongoing administration
*Responsible for SQL 7 and SQL 2000 administration.
*Successfully Migrated an Exchange based email system.
*Developed course syllabus and implemented training program for Prolog, a SQL
based Project Management solution for the construction industry.

Information Systems Technician: Responsible for daily maintenance of the Bureau's network and support of its users.
Key Tasks: Maintain Network servers. Install, maintain, enhance, troubleshoot and repair network cabling system, network connectivity equipment, and remote access components. Maintain Internet Web server, Exchange server, system wide tape backup, accurate user accounts, and security, both physical and electronic.
Computer Support: Install, Maintain, Enhance, troubleshoot and repair workstation hardware and software. System wide administration of policies and procedures. Provide viable solutions to questions and problems encountered by network users. Participate in 3rd party software development.
User Support: Inform staff of network problems, outages, upgrades, and scheduled downtimes in a timely manner prior to event if possible. Key resource to satellite and home offices. Substitute for Director of Information Systems if Director of Information Systems is unavailable.
Other tasks: Experience with Wireless LAN configuration utilizing a fiber optic backbone at the Dallas Convention Center. Computers attached to the LAN included all types of PC’s, Laptops, and MACs.
