Take the Dart Train for this series of caches

Take the Next Train - Final Stop

West End - Downtown Dallas

RED - LIGHT RAIL RED LINE:

©2003 DART. All rights reserved.

Here is a different cache idea. There are 8 different individual caches on the Red Line DART train Route from North Plano down to the West End. This one is a Silver Magnetic container and contains ONLY a log book.PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN PEN.

These caches are easy to find IFF you decrypt and read the HINT!!! Otherwise, some of them could be a 3 or 4 difficulty.. IF you find the cache fast enough, you will be able to hop on the NEXT TRAIN to continue your quest for each successive cache. On the inside of the lid on each container is a letter as well. These letters correspond to a coordinate number for the MYSTERY CACHE. Write these letters down as you finish each cache.

You may drive to these caches if you do not wish to take the DART rail, but I suggest the train. The small fee is well worth it and the family will enjoy it. Some of the rail stations DO NOT have parking!

FARES: ADULTS 65 under $2.50 for a day pass

CHILDREN 5-14 and SENIORS $1.00 for a day pass

CHILDREN UNDER 5 FREE

I started at the North end of the line and went South. You may start at any of the caches, but you will need them all to get the MYSTERY CACHE!

NOTE: On a Weekend Train schedule, You will have 20 minutes between trains to find the cache. You should be able to find them in 10 minutes or less. Total time from the North Plano to the West End using the NEXT TRAIN scenario is 2 hours 45 minutes. If you plan it right, you can have lunch downtown at the West End. Return trip is 45 minutes.

Due to the fact that nobody can find this cache, I have rewritten the entire 'Take the Next Train' cache series to omit the last two stops.

Reason searched for 30 minutes up, down, all around and used the clues in the description -- no luck. If this cache IS still there, we'd REALLY like to know where it is!!! Winter Solstice day -- 72 degrees and sunny! Thanks for the hunt and the nice train ride!

Our luck ran out. We found the first six. 7 and 8 were puzzlers. We check hints and other logs. We thought we had the right place, but no cache. Can someone check? We were sure we had it. Without the letters for 7 and 8, we cannot figure out the MYSTERY cache.

This will probably be my last trip to downtown Dallas. Don't like the place. Anyway, did what I was supposed to do per the clues and still nada. Did not find anything at or very near the curb and corner of the bldg. So with regret I am writing this one off.

Packed train due to the Mavs game tonight. This one was tough due to the many tall buildings everywhere. Would never have found it w/o the hints. It was hard enough with them. Cool hide though I didn't make the 20 minute turn this time. Everyone is too tired to try the mystery cache tonight so we will come back another day to find it.
Thanks for the series of train caches it was fun!

On our way to conquer this cache the right way: via the TRAIN! Stop 8 - 12:10pm. Stopped by the nearby Chipotle for lunch and then to attempt the Cookie Recipe cache. We enjoyed Thanksgiving Square nearby.
