Take the Dart Train for this series of caches.

Take the Next Train - Stop 7

City Place - Dallas

RED - LIGHT RAIL RED LINE:

©2003 DART. All rights reserved.

Here is a different cache idea. There are 8 different individual caches on the Red Line DART train Route from North Plano down to the West End. This one is a DECON Container and contains a mini-pen and a log book.

These caches are easy to find IFF you decrypt and read the HINT!!! Otherwise, some of them could be a 3 or 4 difficulty.. IF you find the cache fast enough, you will be able to hop on the NEXT TRAIN to continue your quest for each successive cache. On the inside of the lid on each container is a letter as well. These letters correspond to a coordinate number for the MYSTERY CACHE. Write these letters down as you finish each cache.

You may drive to these caches if you do not wish to take the DART rail, but I suggest the train. The small fee is well worth it and the family will enjoy it. Some of the rail stations DO NOT have parking!

FARES: ADULTS 65 under $2.50 for a day pass

CHILDREN 5-14 and SENIORS $1.00 for a day pass

CHILDREN UNDER 5 FREE

I started at the North end of the line and went South. You may start at any of the caches, but you will need them all to get the MYSTERY CACHE!

NOTE: On a Weekend Train schedule, You will have 20 minutes between trains to find the cache. You should be able to find them in 10 minutes or less. Total time from the North Plano to the West End using the NEXT TRAIN scenario is 2 hours 45 minutes. If you plan it right, you can have lunch downtown at the West End. Return trip is 45 minutes.

BEWARE OF MUGGLES

When exiting the station take the escalator up and to the right to go to the WEST side of 75. Proceed South to hunt the cache. THIS ONE IS A DECON CONTAINER. SPECIAL THANKS TO 9KEY FOR AIDING IN THE RESTRUCTURING OF THE DOWNTOWN LEGS.

Due to the fact that this cache keeps getting MUGGLED, I have rewritten the entire 'Take the Next Train' cache series to omit the last two stops.

Found 1 through 6 with little or no problems. Geokids really loved the train. However, this one appears to be missing. According to the hint, coordinates and log reviews, we should have the right spot. However, only ants were found and NO cache and no clue for MYSTERY.

Mrs. 1 found this while on a business trip to Dallas. Really spooky - She did this one too late at night for the location/hiding place. TN, left bottle of beach, SL.

Wow those are some really long escalators. I felt like I was coming up from the center of the earth. The kids loved it. Still made the 20 minute turn. That's 7 for 7.

There needs to be a hint on which side of the tracks to get off on. Like Sandbasking, I made the wrong choice. However, I managed to find it, and although this is suppose to be a log only cache, I dropped off Jane, the T/B. She needs to get out of town, so I put on on the train.

Got off the train and naturally took the wrong escalator to the wrong side of the highway! After finally reriding those long escalators, found the cache hidden in a sort of Sandbassking style.

Some of the long escalators were not working. Took elevators instead of long stairs.

Yea! FTF at 11:50 pm. Didn't use a GPSr "a la Web-ling".
I walked over from my apartment, 400+ feet away across 75 (I live in the yellow building on the SE corner or the intersection).

Thanks for the nearby cache!
