I will be archiving this cache at the end of the
month. This will create space for another cache or
two in the same location. If you want to get it, and
haven't yet, now is the time to attempt it.

Finally! Only took a couple minutes this time
around. Found right where Akulakat said it would be,
even tho we checked this area before. Looks like
stage 1 might be losing some of its cammo. Stage 2
pretty cool; nice to take a walk on these trails on
a nice sunny day. Thanks for the cache!

First stage well-deserved diff 4! Loved it!

Took a little bit to find stage 2. Signals were
bouncing around the trees pretty vigorously
today....
But all in all, I think this cache makes my #1 so
far for 'fun to find'....
Thanks for a nice one Akulakat! -- Nice to chat

Tried again today with the Psycho-hound. Met up with

the brambles. Searched with thier help for about 30
minutes. Failed to find it again, even with the
extra help.
Whole area now looks like someone took their

Found it!!!! Holy Cow Batman! That is one sneeky
hide for the first cache. We had to try twice for
this one and Akulakat even emailed an extra hint. I
think the season makes this one interesting. I also
have alot of respect for thePadre for finding this
one on the first attempt!
Very satisfying find!

Ok then there now. Who said a flamethrower was not
necessary to hunt with. Does wonders on thorns. If
the next visitor sees red berries, they aren't
berries. They are dried drops of my blood. Just
could not keep my eyes off the tree. Had to be
there. Then....voila'. Very nice camo job, but the
can was missing (joke). Stage 2 was found about 8
feet away from the coords center spot. Guess thats
close enough. The closer to spring it will really
disappear. So thanks for a very good hunt.

Wasn't planning on giving blood today. Tried to look
around the area, but couldn't move more that a foot
or two in any direction without an attack from the
rat's nest of thorny vines. The cache's camo seems
wasted here, since no one in their right mind would
go there without a really good reason.

Found with Grimlock and our lil' cacher. I was
surprised when i looked over at Grimlock and he was
picking up stage 1, don't know if i would have found
it so quickly on my own. never had my gps telling me
so many different things than what it was doing at
stage 2... at one glance I'm 10 feet away and i'm
searching in likely areas...look back down at the
gps and suddenly I'm 40 feet away... go to the new
spot, look again...glance back at the gps...well you
get the idea! Thanks for the cache!

We did it on the first try and with all the leaves
on the ground! Our claim to fame! We were expecting
to spend a LONG time at stage 1 though the GPS
spotted it rather quickly!! Actually, it looks like
flounder might need some maintenance as it's
starting to fall apart. When I called my friend and
told him the amazing thing we had just accomplished,
he asked 'Did you use the hint?' ... HINT! ... what
hint? You mean we could have found it quicker!!! I
laugh in the face of flounder ... though, Batman had
heckled me earlier so I guess we're even!

I have come to almost dread Akulakat's caches, they
are so well camoflaged, but we do them anyway
because it is just so cool to see his clever hides
(if we can find them!) We should have known better
than to have even tried one with a four star
difficulty. We have no earthly idea what to even
look for at stage one.

Met up with the Akulakat clan to check on the 2nd
stage of this one and it did indeed come up missing
in action. Luckily I had a geocaching store in the
back of my geomobile to help Akulakat replace the
container. I don't fully understand how or why
caches get stolen but at least it is some
consolation that we were looking in the right spot.
As I stated in the no find yesterday, the first
stage should be illegal it is so good! I'm glad I
don't have to go find this one again!

Man did I ever mess this one up. I don't know where
to begin with my mistakes! I guess a start would be
looking for it at the old coordinates, then I was
assuming the first stage was just a container with
the coordinates in it to get us to the highly
camouflaged Flounder. Since I though I was looking
for an easy stage at stage 1 I called Akulakat on
site for a clue. With his help I was able to find
the elusive flounder but not until after I had
looked at it once and passed it by! Well now having
found the tough part of this one, it's supposed to
be a cake walk to the last stage to make your log.
Nope, not me, not today! I can't find the darn
thing! By this time we were running out of time so
we couldn't even go back to see if I had written the
right coordinates down. Bummer! In closing, all I
can say is the Flounder should be illegal it is so
nasty! Plus, now we have all these leaves falling, I
surrender!
On another note, we did have the pleasure of meeting
Brighteye and EM13ob for the first time as they were
headed out after attempting this one. I suspect a
lot of people will be whiffing on this one!

I have done the following to this cache.
Made a new Flounder (This is a temporary fix as this
method of camo obviously isn't going to stand the
long time test). I have moved his location a short
distance as it seems someone has tried to 'Mark' the
location of the cache with beer cans and towels on
trees, etc. The markings were not on top of the
cache, so unsuspecting cachers were drawn off course
by it.
I will post the new coordinates tonight. Once
this cache is 'Available', those are the new
coordinates. The old coordinates were N 33° 05.392 W
096° 42.793

***Warning Snake Story Coming Up***
We started on this one after finding PINnacle by BCR
and decided to go after the Batman FTF instead. We
came back to this one after doing that and we meet
BCR and his family taking a walk on the trail. So
BCR is going to show his wife the Flounder stage one
and she saw it for about a minute before I did. So
they're standing there laughing and I'm trying to
see it. So eventually I start touching things and
saying "this? this?" and I actually touched the
cache three times before I finally saw it. So I get
the G-O-Idiot For The Day.
This cache is VERY DIFFICULT to find. Akulakat
continues to outdo himself. What's next? Be prepared
for some good ol Akulakat search time on this one.
Ow. Stage two was normal. TNL/Geocard SL.
The First and Fourth snake stories of the Day
The first search, I found an old air filter housing
and looked under it. I found the prettiest snake
I've ever seen. Small, black, about 12 inches long,
with a bright yellow stripe and two bright blue
stripes down the length of it's body. Got only a few
pictures. It may be a Western Ribbon Snake(see (visit
link) ) or maybe a Lined Snake (see (visit
link) ).
On the second attempt, we, BCR, Nooshin, and a
couple of lil' cachers are having a nice walk down a
trail and what do we see but the largest, or at
least longest, snake we've seen yet. Got a couple of
pictures. This one may be a Corn (see (visit
link) ) or Rat (see (visit
link) )Snake. I'm afraid I'm not much of a
herpitologist. But it's fun finding and take
pictures of them.
Thanks for the cache,
astrojr1&G-O-GardenerGal

At Batman, I had told BCR that I was going home,
fully intending on going home. But on the way home,
I realized that I didn't have my house key and was
going to have to wake up the family (not popular)
AND the road I was on showed it 100+- feet off. So I
stopped and headed through the woods/briars off the
trail.
BCR said it sounded like a bear was coming, but I
don't remember growling. I'm scratched up now. But
that isn't necessary for this cache, just the
kscatfishhunter way of catching up with BCR.
BCR found it first and directed me toward it and I
couldn't see it at first. Then suddenly it came into
focus. Akulakat is right VERY DIFFICULT to find.
Final stage was easier. BCR found before me. Learned
some new caching hunting techniques, but my old
habits die hard.
T: Travel bug (BCR retrieved it, but handed it to
me later) we were going to place in Pinnacle, but
forgot.
Thanks for the cache!!!!
